The Second Continental Congress began in Philadelphia on May 10, 1775, after King George III failed to meet the demands of the colonists from the 1st Continental Congress. When this Congress met, the American Revolution had already started. The battles of Lexington and Concord had already taken place. The delegates (members) at the Congress appointed George Washington Commander-In-Chief and requested him to form a continental army. This Congress also made paper money and made rules for trading with other countries.
