The Office of Business Affairs is involved in a wide range
of activities that encompass many aspects of School District
146. The prime responsibility of this Office is the management
of the financial affairs of the district. This includes, among
other things, payroll, purchasing, budget planning, financing
and debt management, financial reporting, and retirement and
insurance.
This Office also administers a variety of programs that
impact both staff and students. These programs include life
safety measures, security, transportation, technology deployment
and integration, and overseeing the maintenance of buildings
and grounds.
With the abolishment of the Township Treasurer position,
the Office of Business Affairs will also take on the responsibility
of managing the District’s investment portfolio and
all duties related to this new role.
The Office of Business Affairs works directly with the School
Board and the community, through the work of the Finance
Committee and the Facilities Committee, to keep parents and
community members involved and aware of undertakings in District
146.
